How to play Number Trail
Draw a single trail that:
- starts on square 1,
- moves one square at a time up, down, left or right (never diagonally),
- visits every square exactly once, and
- passes each numbered square at exactly that step. Square 9 must be the ninth square of your trail.
Controls
Drag from the end of your trail to extend it. Drag back over it to step back, or tap any square on the trail to cut it short there. The counter below the board shows how many squares you've covered.
Tips
- Count the gap between two numbers: if 7 and 12 are four squares apart, the trail between them has one spare step to wander.
- Corner squares have only two neighbours, so the trail must go in through one and out through the other. Plan for them early.
- Don't cut the board in two. If the trail splits the empty squares into separate areas, it can't finish.
