How to play Klondike Solitaire
Klondike is the classic patience card game. The goal is to move all 52 cards onto the four foundations at the top right, one pile per suit, building up from Ace to King.
- The seven tableau columns build down in alternating colours: a black 6 can go on a red 7.
- You can move a face-up card together with everything on top of it, as long as the run follows that pattern.
- Only a King (or a run starting with a King) can fill an empty column.
- Tap the stock at the top left to turn cards over. When it runs out, tap the empty space to turn the pile back over and go again.
- When a face-down card is uncovered it flips over automatically.
Controls
Drag cards to move them, or just tap a card and it jumps to the best legal spot. Cards that can no longer be needed in the tableau go up to the foundations by themselves, and once every card is face up the game finishes itself. Choose Draw 1 for a gentler game or Draw 3 for the traditional challenge.
Tips
- Uncover face-down cards early, especially in the longest columns.
- Don't rush to empty a column unless you have a King ready to put there.
- Every deal has a number. Add
?deal= and the number to the address to replay it or share it with a friend.
