How to play FreeCell Solitaire
FreeCell is a patience card game where every card is dealt face up, so almost every deal can be won with careful planning. Move all 52 cards to the four foundations at the top right, building each suit up from Ace to King.
- The eight tableau columns build down in alternating colours: a red 9 can go on a black 10.
- The four free cells at the top left each hold one card while you dig for others.
- Any card or valid run can fill an empty column.
- You can move a run of several cards at once if there's enough free space to shuffle them across one by one: (free cells + 1), doubled for each empty column.
Controls
Drag cards or runs to move them, or tap a card to send it to the best legal spot. Cards that are no longer needed go to the foundations automatically.
Tips
- Free cells are precious. Try not to fill more than two of them at once.
- An empty column is worth more than an empty cell, because it doubles how many cards you can move together.
- Look for the Aces and twos first and work out how to free them before you start.
- Replay or share a deal by adding
?deal= and the deal number to the address.
